At the end of 2019, the French Ice Sports Federation (FFSG), and more broadly the French sports movement, were shaken by several scandals revealing instances of sexist and sexual violence against young athletes within their own structures. These revelations led to a powerful wave of testimonies, echoing the #MeToo movement in the cultural sector. Above all, they exposed the systemic nature of such violence, highlighting the urgent need to prevent and address it at the very heart of sports organisations.
In response, the FFSG and its partners launched SAYES – Safeguarding Young European Skaters, an ambitious European project focused on awareness-raising and prevention, supported by the ERASMUS+ programme.
To meet these challenges, the FFSG and its partners asked us to design an innovative e-learning module.
The module takes the form of an interactive mini-game, specifically designed to capture the attention of young learners and foster lasting awareness. It features eight animated scenes based on real-life situations, inviting participants to observe, reflect, and respond.
These sequences are complemented by quizzes and interactive activities (such as drag-and-drop exercises and simulated scenarios), allowing learners to test their understanding while reinforcing key messages.
Thanks to the strong collaboration between the FFSG and Future Learning, the SAYES project offers a concrete, modern, and committed response to help shift mindsets and promote a safer sporting environment for young skaters across Europe.
